Here are our goats, out in the field. At this time there were eight of them. Annie was hand raised by a friend named Patrick. She is the biggest goat. Annie is a Sonnen/Nubian mix, and she is the first goat we ever had.

The rest of the goats are a breed called "fainting goats" and they are quite small. We have also had quite a few of them over the years. Our first ones were Dilly-Dally and Kokomo, given to us by our neighbors who didn't want them, and the rest is history. We now have seven living here on the farm... and we no longer name them,we just call them all our babies. They are cute little goats and yes, they do faint.
These are called myotonic goats, and they have a problem that makes them fall over when they get scared. If you ask me, it is like they have a seizure. They get stiff-legged and fall over helpless... easy pray for hungry beasts. I think it is sad, but it is a sight to see, and makes them much easier to catch when you need to.
